Heads Down, Fishing for Eternity

He Qiang fishes across the heavens, mistaken by others as a sky soldier, but his hook actually catches legendary powerhouses from every realm. Once the Supreme Heavenly Emperor, he created the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths, which are now collapsing. The lower realm's stronglings wrongly believe his hook is a chance for ascension. When he casts it, the Sun Swallowing Lord is hooked, transformed into a dog, and named Wangcai by He Qiang. Returning home, He Qiang is rejected by his mother-in-law's family for neglecting his work, forcing them to divorce him from Li Mengyao, though neither He Qiang nor Li Mengyao wishes to end their marriage.
