I Sell Songs on the Subway, She Kneels

At thirty-five, Zhou Yi, a subway maintenance worker, sees his entire monthly salary squandered by his wife, Liu Xiangli, while his daughter suffers from a high fever and they cannot raise even eight hundred yuan. After Zhou Yi unexpectedly goes viral selling songs on the subway while wearing a mask, he is invited to a popular singing competition. Panic-stricken, Liu Xiangli conspires with her lover, her brother-in-law, and a corrupt judge to sabotage him. Zhou Yi leaves everything and donates all his earnings to remote mountain areas, leaving his wife with nothing. During the competition, he uses several original, catchy songs to make a comeback and win the championship.
