Moon in Palm

Jing Mingyue, a scholar's daughter from the Chu Kingdom, survives the destruction of her family when the King of Chu executes her clan. Hiding among refugees, she later becomes a maid to Prince Xiao Lu as a hostage. While suffering together, they fall in love. When Mingyue returns to the capital with Xiao Lu, she eagerly awaits marriage, only to witness him marrying a noblewoman to secure his throne and tolerating her mistreatment. Desperate, she turns to the Crown Prince, using her wit and herself as leverage to seek revenge and escape. Every promise once abandoned by Xiao Lu is fulfilled by the Prince. By the time Xiao Lu finally realizes his mistake, the humble maid Jing Mingyue has already donned the imperial crown and become the Crown Prince's Empress.
