Besties Break the Engagement Together

Best friends Song Xiayi and Xu Zhiqing travel into a novel and become the two mistresses of the Huo family who sacrificed everything for love but were met with coldness. Knowing their three-year engagement can be dissolved for millions in assets and freedom, they endure the harassment and humiliation from the Huo brothers, the white moonlight, and the mother-in-law. Instead of being humble like their original owners, they cleverly counter their provocations. After the engagement expires, they decisively submit divorce papers and leave to start their own careers. The Huo brothers initially doubt they will really leave, thinking it is a tactic to lure them in, but only realize their discomfort and confusion once they are gone.
