Children of Coal City
In the late 1970s, veteran miner Zhang Zexiang passes away, leaving his wife Ma Qiaoying and three children to survive on their own. To make ends meet, Zhang Yaoping drops out of school to work shifts in the mine, while Zhang Yaojun is expelled and embarks on a entrepreneurial journey. Xiao Qin, an employee at a liquor factory, disguises herself as a man to promote snacks at Zhang Yaojun's video hall, where they meet and fall in love through shared hardships. When Zhang Yaoping tries to marry her, Ma Qiaoying objects, but Xiao Qin wins over the whole family with her actions. Years later, Zhang Yaojun's business thrives as he enters the real estate market; Xiao Qin returns to help him secure development rights, and the couple reconciles. Ultimately, the Zhang family overcomes their struggles and enjoys a life of increasing prosperity.
