Bodhi Descends: Golden Cicada Guards the Path

The Great Dao eliminates the "variable" Sun Wukong, threatening the Three Realms order and ordering the Heavenly Court and Sacred Peak to jointly kill him. Golden Cicada, the former incarnation of Tang Seng, secretly guided by Bodhisattva Master, saves Sun Wukong before he takes his first master at Flower-Fruit Mountain and escorts him to Fang Cun Mountain. Together, they evade successive assassinations from the Ten Kings of Hell, the Four Saints of the North Pole, the Door of Creation, the Venerables of the Sacred Peak, and the two Semi-Saintly Emperors Changsheng and Ziwei. To help Sun Wukong open the gate to Fang Cun Mountain, Golden Cicada burns eleven lifetimes of merit, trading heart for life to help Sun Wukong restore vitality. Sun Wukong becomes a disciple of Bodhisattva, endures a ten thousand-year chaotic trial, surpasses the peak of a Semi-Saint, and retraces the path of the Great Rebellion in Heaven.
