The Spicy Wife Takes Charge

In 1980, Zhang Fengxia, discriminated against due to her family background, marries retired soldier Zhao Tieshan, a poor but upright man with a pure red lineage. Zhao is honest and noble, yet burdened by the need to support his fallen comrade's mother, Liu Darniang, leaving his family in financial straits. Fengxia takes charge of household affairs, running a chili sauce workshop using her ancestral skills. She resolves her husband's chauvinism, bridges the gap with Liu Darniang, and withstands the harassment of village bullies and gossip from villagers. Seizing the opportunity of individual economy, she expands her workshop into 'Fengxia Sauce Garden', selling products to the county supply and marketing cooperative. Ultimately, through her kindness and capability, she earns the recognition of everyone, transforming this strained family into a harmonious home.
