1978 Rich Sisters
Modern woman Jiao Ran and her best friend Xia Xiaoqi accidentally travel back to 1978, becoming daughters-in-law of the Lu family. Jiao Ran transmigrates as the fat and timid eldest daughter-in-law, married to the aloof teacher Lu Xiangnan, while Xia Xiaoqi becomes the fiery second daughter-in-law, married to the officer Lu Yanbei. Neither is well-treated by their husbands and faces harassment from their mother-in-law and younger sister-in-law. They start a business by knitting sweaters; Jiao Ran loses weight and charms Lu Xiangnan, while Xia Xiaoqi resolves misunderstandings with Lu Yanbei. Using modern aesthetics and creative sales tactics, their business thrives until it is destroyed by arson instigated by the younger sister-in-law and the green tea girl Li Dongmei. The two cleverly set traps to retaliate, making their antagonists suffer the consequences, which also triggers their husbands' doubts about their true identities.
