Empress Refuses to Attend Court

Modern office worker Yu Qi, after dying suddenly, transmigrates as the young widow Empress of the Great Yu Dynasty. With an eight-year-old emperor needing her care and powerful relatives and officials demanding she rule from behind the throne, she decides to do nothing since she knows nothing about political intrigue. Relying on modern logic and rhetoric to trick everyone, she is soon seen through by Fang Jinxian, a corrupt minister who controls the court. She avoids him like a snake and scorpion, yet he deliberately undermines her step by step, forming a perfect ancient comedy of errors. After she accidentally discovers his secret of being poisoned by a strange toxin that only she can cure, their relationship shifts from testing each other to conspiring together, and from avoiding to entangling. These destined enemies eventually forge a bond of mutual redemption amidst the whirlwind of power.
