Village Guardian

Lai Fu, the kind and honest guardian of Shi Village, faces relentless injustice. Wrongfully accused of theft and beaten, he is slandered for saving someone, and on his wedding night, he is assaulted by bandits who also kill him. Reborn, Lai Fu repays enemies with kindness, using his past memories to clear all wrongs and earning the villagers' reverence as a living god. He eventually marries the mute girl A Yin. However, shortly after their marriage, tomb robbers collapse the village dam. During a storm, Lai Fu bravely digs a channel to divert the flood, saving the entire village but is swept away by the waters himself.
