Life Is Never Full
Retired Lin Jianguo gives his entire 8,000 yuan monthly pension to his son for mortgage payments, effectively becoming a free housekeeper. On his birthday, after buying a pack of four-yuan cigarettes via Alipay, he is publicly humiliated by his daughter-in-law who flips the table and insults him. His own son not only fails to defend him but also criticizes him for not being as considerate as his father-in-law. Heartbroken, Lin Jianguo packs his bags, takes the property deed, and leaves. Ten days later, his daughter-in-law cries and begs him to return, not out of love, but because she discovers the owner's name is his own. From then on, Lin Jianguo refuses to be a free housekeeper. He outwits his daughter-in-law, eventually regains his dignity, and enjoys a comfortable retirement.
