Better Than Two Paths to Spring
Yan Luo, a PhD candidate in agriculture, leaves her boyfriend Ke Yu to pursue her research dreams with her mentor in a remote town. The local tea plantation and ancestral home are provided by Chi Zheng, leading to a reunion where they recognize each other as childhood sweethearts lost for years. Mistaking Chi Zheng for someone idle, Yan Luo is unaware he is actually the director of a cultural tourism group returning to inspect development projects. Seeing her trapped in a suffocating relationship, Chi Zheng, who has harbored unrequited love for over a decade, encourages her to break free. When Ke Yu arrives demanding she abandon her research, Yan Luo decisively ends the relationship. After the project concludes and Yan Luo returns to school believing their fate is sealed, Chi Zheng transfers back to the city and rushes to be with her.
