1960s Scavengers Time Travel to Modern Era
In the 1960s, after Su Jian's disappearance, his wife Li Guiyun and their children, Su Jin and Su Xiao Xiao, are forced by Su's mother-in-law into a drafty thatched cottage with no food or clothing. One day, the siblings accidentally activate a time portal connecting to the modern era in the shed, allowing them to travel back and forth. They improve their lives by scavenging vegetables, selling scrap, and trading. During this time, they cleverly fight against Su's mother-in-law and her family who try to seize their belongings, and learn from the brigade headquarters that their father might be trapped in a black coal mine. After finding clues that their father is still alive in the modern era, they design a plan to help the police rescue him. Finally, the four Su family members reunite and live a stable life in the difficult times thanks to the portal and their savings.
