Yun Luo, the legitimate daughter of the Yun family, was betrothed to Ye Zhihuan, the heir of the Zhenyuan Marquis, only to overhear him favoring his half-sister Yun Mei, whom he intended to marry while using Yun Luo merely as a shield. Heartbroken, Yun Luo proactively swapped their betrothals, marrying the disabled Prince Mu as a concubine to retrieve her mother's dowry. During wedding preparations, Ye Zhihuan showed bias toward Yun Mei and punished Yun Luo for a staged drowning incident.
