Thousand Years of Frost and Snow

Six months pregnant, my husband Lu Xiao's childhood friend led the barbarians into the palace, intending to torture and kill me in the chaos. Instead of calling Lu Xiao's hidden guards, I led the Empress and concubines into a side hall to await the rescue of the Imperial Guard. In my past life, the barbarians had breached the palace gates, set it on fire, and massacred everyone. Lu Xiao followed the signal left by the hidden guards to save me. However, his childhood friend Mu Xinyao was dragged away by the barbarians, tortured to death, and left for dead. Lu Xiao comforted me in soft words, saying it was not my fault. But on the day I was due, he brought ten stinking barbarian slaves into the room to torture me to death and murdered my child.
