The Empress's Slacking Life

I devoted the Shen family's military power and wealth to help Xiao Jian ascend the throne, yet he only cherished his white moonlight, fabricating charges to strip me of my position. Refusing to bow down, I secretly sent a message back to the family. My father used illness to temporarily suspend military duties, my brother returned home to manage family affairs, and the mansion stopped freely supplying resources to the inner court. Xiao Jian stubbornly favored relatives, causing frequent errors in court scheduling, weakening border defenses, and leaving the enemy family unable to support the political situation. As the timing was ripe, the Shen family led troops back to the capital to stabilize the chaos. I no longer relied on a king's love, but stood firm on my own strength, taking charge of crucial court affairs.
