After the Great Chu Emperor went to war personally, the Empress took her beloved woman, Su Qianxue, out of the palace to assassinate him. Su Qianxue luckily survived and gave birth to her son, Tianbao. The Imperial Preceptor prophesied that a divine child from heaven would be reborn in the royal family, flowing with golden blood, and the Empress Dowager issued an edict to find the divine child's descendant. Six years later, Su Qianxue and Tianbao were forcibly brought into the palace to serve as reading companions for the Empress's son, Xuan'er.
