Twelve Golden Edicts: True Love Betrayed

Empress Zhao Qingjun of the Great Qian, entrusted by her late emperor, relies on the loyal minister Yue Qingzhi, who wields twelve golden edicts. However, she is misled by the treacherous Qin Gui, who repeatedly abuses the edicts to force Yue's concessions, eventually driving him into despair and retirement. When foreign enemies invade and Qin Gui sells the country for personal gain, the land falls. Upon regaining her senses, the Empress summons Yue three times, but he refuses to relinquish power. Only after eliminating the traitors does she truly repent. In the end, Yue enters the enemy camp alone to execute the Empty Fort Strategy, while the Empress shields him, the two embracing in a pool of blood.
