Letters of Rain and Memory

After her mother's death, seventeen-year-old Pu Yu meets Yuan Su in the Rainbell Lane. One escapes a forced school dropout from a toxic family, while the other alone bears the crushing weight of parental debt and illness. Between the rain-soaked alley, old streets, campus, repair shop, and courtyard lights, they face monthly exams, competitions, rumors, tuition, and sickness together. They witness the changing seasons, finding meaning in the lamp at the street's end, soda on the way home, buns at dawn, and starlight on the mountain peak—tiny yet blazing proof of their youth. Standing side by side, illuminating each other, they walk through the storms toward the light truly belonging to them.
