The Snake Bride

After fisherman Xu Xian marries the beautiful wife Bai Susu, rumors spread that she is a snake spirit. Under the deliberate incitement of the snake catcher and his mother's suspicion, Xu Xian subjects his wife to various tests, witnessing strange phenomena such as molting and snake patterns, leading him to believe she intends to harm him. The truth reveals that the snake catcher, unable to win her affection, spread rumors and committed murder to frame her. Once the conspiracy is exposed, all supernatural events have rational explanations. Bai Susu actually married him to repay a kindness, and all the fear stemmed from prejudice and scheming.
