Don't Touch the Fish

Dashan and Tang Qian are legally remarried but delay their wedding due to village gossip. To combat feudal superstition, they cleverly use props to design science experiments. Villagers, including Aunt Liu and Zhao Wangcai, become greedy, pretend to be spirits, contaminate the water source, destroy property, spread rumors, and create panic to frame Dashan. The clan leader and villagers believe them and punish Dashan. Dashan and Tang Qian remain calm, team up with the clan leader to set a trap, and expose the couple's conspiracy of theft, defamation, and public disorder in public. Ultimately, the criminals are legally dealt with, superstition is eradicated, a scientific and civilized new style is established in the village, and Dashan and Tang Qian finally hold their wedding.
