The Fishmonger's Temptation

Dong Shishi is an ordinary fishmonger who marries the handsome and wealthy Mao Yunzhou. At a class reunion, she is mocked, but her husband makes a stunning entrance. School beauty Zhai Yan warns Mao Yunzhou is a cat demon, citing evidence such as his love for fish eyes, attraction to shiny objects, fear of water, and heightened libido during full moons. Dong Shishi notices cat fur in her home, and while Mao Yunzhou claims he saved a stray cat, his wounds seem suspicious. Zhai Yan gives Dong Shishi silver talismans for protection, which accidentally burn Mao Yunzhou's lips. Mao Yunzhou accuses Zhai Yan of jealousy and manipulation, leading Dong Shishi to feel guilty and discard the silver items. Dong Shishi witnesses Mao Yunzhou chasing mice at night, while a neighbor's dog kills a stray cat only to die mysteriously shortly after.
