White Su Su's Journey to a Beautiful Future

Since childhood, Bai Su Su was sold to a theater troupe. To earn money for her freedom, she sang daily at Huibin Lou. However, the troupe master, desperate to repay gambling debts, tried to sell her to Zhang Yuanwai, a wealthy man addicted to beating his concubines. Unable to accept her fate, Bai Su Su argued with the troupe master to secure her freedom, but he raised the price and even threatened her with violence. In her hour of need, Fu Jinnian, a notorious and powerful figure in the Beijing circle, appeared and saved her. He then selected this young actress to sing a special version of The Peony Pavilion exclusively for him.
