Unavoidable Dog Doom

On New Year's Eve, Lin Xiaoqin forces her husband Wang Tie to kill and cook their fifteen-year-old dog, Huang, because there is no meat at home. Wang Tie's mother-in-law, Wang Qiuxiang, refuses to let the dog be killed, claiming it is a dog that repays kindness and that killing it will bring retribution. Ignoring her warnings, Wang Tie kills the dog and throws its head into the mountains. After eating the dog meat, strange things begin to happen. To appease the dog's anger, Wang Qiuxiang goes up the mountain in the dark to retrieve the dog's head. Suddenly, barking is heard from the mountains, and Wang Qiuxiang goes mad. Back home, she cries and laughs hysterically while holding a wooden stele, acting erratically. Terrified that their mother-in-law is possessed by the dog's soul, Wang Tie and his wife pack their bags and drive away. Just as the car starts, Huang suddenly appears and lunges at the couple!
