Golden Toad Luck: Instant Wealth

Lu Shantang, a treasure hoarder in Qingwu Village, encounters the auspicious sign of a 'Golden-Toad-Holding-Egg' after a collision, attracting the greedy businessman Qian Zong who threatens and bribes him to capture the mountain's guardian spirit, the Three-Legged Golden Toad. To raise a bride price for his grandson, Lu Shantang wavers in his principles, feigning cooperation while secretly devising a trap using mugwort ash and color-changing paint to create the illusion of the toad's revenge, causing Qian Zong to go mentally unstable. Afterward, Lu Shantang realizes his mistake due to the frozen funds and strange noises from the treasure bell, choosing to return the money and apologize. Facing the江湖 fraudster Zhao Laogui who uses the 'Golden Toad' name to deceive others, he resolutely calls the police to stop him. The story profoundly reveals that greed destroys people, while righteousness must return.
