Year Pig Taboo
In the month of the 12th lunar month, Wang Shuanzhu insists on slaughtering a suspected pregnant sow to make the New Year celebration grand, completely ignoring his wife Liu Guilan's concerns and the villagers' taboos. Upon returning home, 23-year-old daughter Wang Daimei uses her agricultural knowledge to determine the sow is pregnant, publicly palpating the animal to confirm the pregnancy and encountering a bizarre omen when the butcher's knife fails to pierce the sow. Everyone feels something is wrong, and the atmosphere around them grows increasingly eerie, yet Wang Shuanzhu remains stubborn. After slapping his daughter, he forces the butcher to kill the sow, and strange events begin to occur continuously in the household.
